no one feeling blue around here!

i believe in getting spoiled. yup i do. i think it's even better though when you are able to spoil yourself and not get into debt while doing it. :) last year for my birthday, i bought a trio of b-day presents for myself. hahahaha...although i couldn't do a trio this year due to my wee house, dog, and going back to school, i still gifted myself a pretty blue box to add to my collection of pretty blue boxes. i thought it was perfect and the s.a. that helped me is a keeper. thanks noriko!

happy belated b-day to me! hahha, yes, i am a dorkus and a porkus.

a second comeback

my bag whoring days and ways got me contacts with s.a.'s all over the place, notably south coast plaza in costa mesa (the epicenter of bag orgies galore) and las vegas (holla to the lower sales tax). very often, i would get emails from my s.a.'s with pictures of bags to tempt my inner bagness and of course my wallet. ahhh, thou art foul beings with thy temptations. it's like a pimp pushing crack on their whores so they can be controlled...ugh, my wallet quivers...it really does.

recently, an s.a. just so happened to REMEMBER that i had inquired about a particular bottega veneta colored bag like FREAKIN' last year. she emailed me some news. goodness! she wrote:

"Hi bagnatic,
We received a brand new piece today, and I thought of you. This is the Sloane in Dark Bramble (looks shockingly similar to another color you once liked...)"

omg, yes i did :( i recall loving that color. i recall asking around for it when i was on my bottega veneta hunt. i recall they sold out everywhere. i recall i buried that desire for this brick red bag and made peace with it because it was gone and there was no point wanting it....and NOW you want to resurface and claim bills in my wallet that i don't have?! how dare you! how dare you!

the pics doesn't do it justice. if this bag is really "shockingly similar" to the scala colored bag i had wanted once before, then it's a delicious earthy red brick color that only looks better with age. ahhh, too bad so sad. so sad indeed...maybe it will go on sale at the end of the year and i will win a million dollars.

same bag with flash.

another woofy bag

don't know what's going on with some of the animal themes you see in bags. furry, hairy, jungly, farm woofing...STOP! why isn't PETA getting on your ass or at least some sort of fug award nomination to give you designers a reality check?! seriously, even a double c chanel label on a hairy animal bag is ooogly! check this monstrosity out. a chanel flap with fur and tweed. it's like a designer fart. ick.

then it dawned on me that i own something that looks very similar:

this is about as much animal fur as i'm willing to tote. and this furry bag carries only doo doo and treats. what a useless bag it is.

meet cocoa

thanks to my main squeeze, i can now add this beautiful metallic brown reissue to my bagwhore collection! it is a MOST GORGEOUS shimmery brown color with a beautiful ruthium chain. i've actually eyed this baby for a while now but could not bring myself to get it after owning a house and a dog while going back to school. let's just say that my frivolous spending has taken a step back with a really big reality check. besides, i've bought so many bags already for just two arms so goes my reasoning......but then steps in main squeeze and i get this beautiful chanel for my bday! yay! i've already named her cocoa :) i love you cocoa...i mean i love you main squeeze!

cocoa can be dressed up or down and adds that extra beat or two to my heart when i tote it. i am not a fashionista by any means, but i sure love my bags and all baglike things (somewhere, i guess my girl genes went kooky). anways, the metallic shimmer is somewhat muted but the brown is truly gorgeous!

a friend of mine once told me all my chanels look the same...i guess they sortta do with the same quilting and structure. but like a mommy of multiples, they all look different to me and i love them all individually. besides, i think this style of chanel drives me the most batty...the other styles do not grab my heart or my wallet quite as strongly as the classic flaps and reissues do.

welcome cocoa! ow!

a grave saturday

when i was invited to watch a movie this saturday at the cemetary with a few friends, in my brain, i thought "wtf?" but with my mouth i said "yes." it's like a batter fried twinkie...it feels wrong but i still want to try it kwim? so my main squeeze and i packed our reusable costco bag with blankets and potstickers for sitting and eating and checked out "cinespia" at the hollywood forever cemetary (http://www.cinespia.org/calendar/). holy guacamole look at the line! who knew hanging out with the dead was so popular?! it took almost 30 minutes to get to the front of the line.

cool ivy covered building shot.

if watching a movie in a cemetary isn't weird enough, you are also encouraged to bring a picnic basket and drinks. somehow, eating amongst the dead did not make it on my list of "must do's" till that saturday. i think if i think about it too much, it is creepy. so i didn't...i started people watching instead and noticed all the bags folks were carrying their food and libations in.

i definitely see a trend towards reusable bags. YAY, gooooo green!...trader joes, whole foods, and even a big blue ikea bag were hanging about the line. my main squeeze has a few himself, a big ole costco bag and trader joe's bags which we use for groceries and quick picnics. good thing he carries them most of the time because they are ooooglly....does chanel make something of the like? i kid....

when we finally got in, a brisk walk to the seating area meant tombstone sightings. eewww...may you rest in peace....all of yous.

this picture has an anne rice-ish quality to it minus the overtly sexual vampires that usually romps about in her books. still spooky. i wouldn't be caught dead hanging about here....hey wait a minute! movie...yes, gotcha.

if you squint a bit, you might be able to see marilyn manroe in "some like it hot." total tangent, but dang, she wore some pretty risque outfits and the funny thing is that her tits hung pretty low. perhaps firm and perky is a more contemporary thing because those boobies DID NOT look sexy to me at all.

and then the night ended and we went our merry ways...alive and kicking.
