my golden ticket

ahhh…my golden bag. my bright, shiny golden bag! it must have been amazing when charlie bucket found his golden ticket wrapped up in his willy wonka chocolate bar. and for moi, it was just as amazing when my eyes landed on this metallic gold chanel reissue (the difference between a regular chanel flap and the reissue is the clasp and the chain strap. check out my previous post for more info. http://bagnatic.blogspot.com/2007/11/which-clasp-would-you-choose.html). oh my, what have i stumbled upon was my thought?! and why is it so damn shiny?! it was like god shone a bright light on this purse and i knew i had to have it. hahaha.

i had originally visited kazue over at scp bloomies because of this bag, the black caviar gst (grand shopping tote).

i liked totes and thought this would be a great chanel for everyday use. since kazue is super awesome, she had a lot of clients to deal with that day so as i patiently waited my turn to purchase the gst, i walked around the boutique and modeled some bags…alas, i modeled this gold reissue and a seed of “want” was sown. oh my gawd how it SHINED off my black shirt that day. it looks amazing against a solid colored outfit because the gold really pops! i really wanted the bag, but it seemed SO impractical and really expensive at the time. come on now, i should be practical and pick up the, well, practical black bag so i did. i went home that day with the black gst. it sat in my closet for a few weeks new and unused as i drooled over the gold reissue and decided what to do. oh, what to do, what to do *fingers tapping.*

now you know what i finally decided to do. the black gst was cute, but i thought it looked similar to jumbolicious, my jumbo flap. besides, it didn’t take my breath away quite the same way that the gold reissue did. not too long afterwards, i called kazue and asked her to hold the gold reissue for me. i went back to scp to return the gst and to purchase this golden bag. done deal.

my “golden ticket” still sits in my closet looking as golden and as lovely as ever. since i have 5 weddings coming up, there will definitely be 5 occasions to bring this golden beauty out for a spin. watch out for this bag as it makes an appearance at a wedding near you. i know my tastes may not run along the same path as yours, but goodness gracious, we all know when we love something and boy do i love this bag so very much. it is my lucky golden bag indeed.

as i delude myself into thinking my chanel collection is complete with one caviar flap bag, a gold reissue (2 super signature pieces. must have classics in ANY chanel bagdrobe), and my chanel wallet…might i say that bagnatic will be on a hiatus from procuring more bags? for the moment anyways, since i still need money to fund my drug habit (j/k).

hahhaha…i was shopping at target with my friend “j” and i saw a lovely silver piggy bank. i told her i should buy it so i can put money in there for my chanel fund. ahahhaha…sad :)
stay tuned for more covetous bag posts, but no purchases UNLESS there's an awesome sale ;)

bag-o-mellow

isn't this an absolutely pretty, pretty white purse? it's a louis vuitton ivory epi jasmin and i think it's pretty hot. the shape is nice, roomie, but not too big. it's meant to be hand held or carried on the crook of your arm. the white leather is not so stark white and it's perfect for the summer. i originally saw this at an lv shop. then when i was at bloomies, i saw a shiseido saleslady carrying it and i thought, WOW, really pretty! my second thought was DANG, how much can you make working at shiseido?! i think the bag looks like a leathery marshmellow. i like it a lot. i even went as far as dropping in a lv store again to hold it for a bit...you know, model it :)

hahaha...i did not walk away with one though. not this time anyways :)

couture bike

i want a bike. i don't need a fancy one, but i do want one that will allow me to bike around silverlake so i can work off this summer padding that i've got going on. i heard a "hybrid" is a good bike for these city streets. picture this: me on a bike riding to a cafe for dessert. how chic and green is that? dang dessert can be so good but now i pay the price!

i've checked out a few bikes, you know, done my preliminary research, but i'm not willing to spend much on one. a bike IS NOT a bag so i have spending limits when it comes to that. i think there are some refurbished two wheelers without training wheels waiting for me to give it a lovely home so i shall continue searching until i find "the one."

anyways, as i researched via the internet, i came across this chanel bike. seriously, chanel made a bike. it costs 40k!! no wonder! look at those lambskin/calfskin classic flaps stuck on them!! i would never be able to comfortably ride in one of those things...i would fear crashing and scratching up those bags...or getting jacked while biking to the cafe.

i would rather have a bike with a basket and a horn. i'm old school like that.

goodness, do you see the gorgeous chanel classic flaps?!

bringing sexy back

ahhh, i just came home from watching "sex and the city" the movie. i remember back in the days when it aired on HBO, my roomie and i would stay home to watch it and giggle like school girls when some overly explicit visuals were shown. gawd, has it been over 7 years now since i first watched it?! it must be right? then again, my years are blurring together as i lose myself in the land of ageless denial :)

watching the movie was like watching old friends. i thought when the series ended, it left without a proper goodbye. the two big questions were 1) what's going to happen to carrie and her relationship with "mr. big" and 2) charlotte's adoption of a chinese girl...i was so curious about that!

wonder no more! this movie exceeded my expectations. it was fun, fashionably fabulous, humorous, and a tear jerker. it really is the quintessential chick flick. and the bags! wow. you know i'm a bag dork, but seriously, i always like checking out people's bags and the movie had some fabulous ones. chanels were definitely represented. i recognized many of the bags in the movie and that cracked me up...good gawd i'm a bit obsessed. here's a few bags that i saw...would you like to go on a bagnatic journey with me?

charlotte carried this chanel chain trim purse in white. it should be at the beginning of the movie.

charlotte also carried this chanel washed calfskin tote in beige at the beginning of the movie. she's carrying it in that group picture at the top.

in carrie's closet (when she was talking to her assistant), a chanel smocked effect stictching bag in coral (orangeish-red) was peeking from a shelf.

carrie toted this chanel mesh bag in gold messenger style near the end of the movie. it is so cute!

here's the lv moutard firebird bag that carrie gave to her assistant (jennifer hudson) as a christmas gift. fugly.

carrie also carried a really cute hermes birkin in green.

lastly, carrie also toted this ysl raspail painted canvas in brown...i believe it was the ysl version even though a designer named momo tried to bite it.

so as my brain soaked in the storyline and the emotions that were evoked by the movie, my bag brain was scouting out the bags. there's a few chanels that i did not include here. ahhaha, i think this is enough bag fodder for your eyes...i need to go to sleep!

kim cattrall (samantha) once stated in an interview that:

"The show is a valentine to being single. ... Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you; now it means you're pretty sexy and you're taking your time deciding how you want your life to be...and who you want to spend it with."

i think it's sexy when as a woman, you have your shit together. cheers friends, to having your shit together. word.

purty in pearls

oooh la la. here's my tres delicious gift to myself! a strand of pearls! i know...pearls? i LOVE pearls. you don't know this, but i use to rock a fake strand in elementary school for a year. i would venture to say in 3rd grade i think. i still remember my youthful pearl wearing days because i distinctly remember my mom buying me a fake strand at one of those chinatown swapmeets. i also distinctly remember BEGGING her to buy me another fake strand when the one i wore (i never took them off), broke. yah, i was a pearl lova from way back!

that's me in elementary school rocking my fake strand of pearls and a gingham dress. i was SO stylin'. you might recognize my double chin.

here's me totally not in elementary school anymore, finally rocking a REAL strand of pearls. i do have a real pearl pendant too, but nothing beats a strand of them. *sigh* they are so lovely. they have a nice pinkish tint to them.

i was able to get them because of gift number 4 to myself. i had a tremendous amount of gift cards and needed to spend them before they expired. once i moseyed on over to the fine jewelry section, my eyes zoned in on the pearls and my search was clearly over. i knew i had to get myself a strand! i had originally eyed the south sea pearls, but those are TREMENDOUSLY EXPENSIVE. i finally settled on a good size freshwater strand. i love them a lot :) maybe some day, i can work myself up to a strand of yellow south sea pearls.
